Problem is, Bethesda’s playing it close to the chest—no release date in sight. It’s been nearly seven years since they dangled it at E3 2018, a convention that’s long gone. With silence from the Microsoft-owned studio, fans are stuck chasing rumors, crossing fingers that something’s legit until the real scoop drops.
Hammerfell: Yay or Nay?
We’re so in the dark about The Elder Scrolls VI that we’ve got no clue on its release, story, location—or even its full name. But a fresh rumor might shed light on that last one. According to Twisted Voxel, YouTuber and insider eXtas1s says it’ll simply be called Hammerfell, a region fans have long pegged as its setting.
In a new vid, eXtas1s added that the game might pack 12 or 13 major cities. Hammerfell’s a huge chunk of land west of Tamriel, so the title fits if the leak’s on point.
Reactions are all over the place. “Hammerfell? Sounds cool, I’m in,” wrote Shepherdsfavestore on Reddit. Others aren’t feeling it: “My excitement for The Elder Scrolls VI just ‘Hammerfell’ apart,” cracked a skeptical user. The same thread wasn’t sold on Twisted Voxel’s hints of shipbuilding and sea fights either.
Unconfirmed whispers like these need a big grain of salt, especially for this game. Let’s hope Bethesda throws us a bone with solid news this year!
