so I just found out that Rodger Berman, who’s turning 55 this year, has lost both his parents. That’s seriously rough. He’s the husband (well, almost ex-husband) of Rachel Zoe, and they announced their split recently, but this is more about his personal life, especially what he’s been through.
Rodger’s Family Background
Rodger grew up in a family of five. He’s got two sisters he’s super close to, but he doesn’t really talk about them much. I guess he’s just trying to keep their lives private, which I totally get. His parents, though, they’re both gone. He lost his mom and dad when he was 41 and 46. That’s gotta be really tough, right?

Rodger’s dad, Marvin Berman, passed away on October 5, 2015, when Rodger was 46 years old. It’s wild how he lost him at such an age when you’re really counting on your parents for support.
His Mom’s Passing at 41
Rodger’s mom, Marilyn Berman, passed away five years before his dad. She passed in October 2010, and Rodger was just 41 at the time. It hit his family pretty hard. His sister Jenine even shared a really sad post on Facebook, talking about how she couldn’t believe their mom was gone and how tough it was living so far away. She mentioned how sweet their mom was, and you could just feel the heartbreak.
Memories of His Mom
Rodger doesn’t talk much about his parents passing, but in 2017, he shared a throwback picture for Mother’s Day. It was from his Bar Mitzvah, and he posted a heartfelt message about how much he misses her. He talked about how she had a big heart and how she passed on her kindness to his sons, Skyler and Kaius. That’s pretty sweet, right? You can tell how much his mom meant to him.
Moving On
I can’t imagine how hard it must be for Rodger to lose both his parents in such a short time. But, from what it looks like, he’s doing okay. He’s got his kids and work to keep him going, and I guess time helps heal some of that pain.
