Social media star and streamer Adin Ross has a wild plan to rake in cash with GTA VI, but don’t hold your breath—Rockstar Games probably won’t let it fly.

A Money-Making Dream Meets a Brick Wall
The Grand Theft Auto series is a goldmine, not just in gaming but across all entertainment. Every new release from Rockstar Games brings in big bucks and glowing reviews, and GTA VI is shaping up to be another hit. Back in 2013, GTA V became the second best-selling game ever, moving over 210 million copies across PCs, PlayStations, and Xboxes, according to a Wiki page. While it’s anyone’s guess how many copies GTA VI will sell, it’s a safe bet it could top its predecessor someday. And Adin Ross is itching to grab a piece of that action.
Here’s the catch: his big idea slams right into Rockstar’s rules. Sportskeeda points out that Ross’s scheme clashes with the company’s terms of service, putting a serious damper on his plans.
Crypto Chaos in Los Santos
So what’s Ross cooking up? As Dexerto reports, he wants to launch a role-playing server for GTA VI tied to cryptocurrency. “It’s all about RP,” he said alongside FaZe Banks in early February. “I’m building the biggest, best server out there—we’re throwing serious cash at it.”
On the NELK Boys’ Full Send podcast, Ross laid it out: “When GTA VI drops, I’m setting up an economy where everything runs on crypto coins, backed by my server as a real asset. You earn in-game cash, and you can pull it out. I want people living real lives on there—working, grinding.”
He even tossed in a twist: die on his server, and poof—your crypto’s gone. Sounds a lot like gambling to me, risking your digital wallet on every move. Good luck convincing Rockstar to greenlight that—about as likely as Michael, Franklin, and Trevor sharing a turkey dinner.
GTA VI’s slated to hit PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S by late 2025, barring any delays. Watch the trailer below if you haven’t yet!
