Player Experience & Impressions

Genetic Guardian looks pretty wonderful, and some wish the depth of the gameplay were more. After the tutorial rounds that are around 30 in number, the progression becomes flat; unlocking some permanent upgrades, seeing a good number of enemies, and getting a few turrets take away the thirst to go on playing. There are hints of something more, but the sense of discovery soon wears off.

That said, it’s a good experience for the price (especially on sale), showing some honest ingenuity in its mechanics. Just don’t expect tons of replay value
