Volvo Pushes EU to Stick with Electric Cars 2035 Plan Despite Industry Shift

Electric Cars 2035 Plan

Volvo and many other companies want the EU to keep its strict electric car rules. The EU plans to ban gas-powered cars by 2035. But here’s the weird part: Volvo just canceled its own electric car plan. What’s going on? It seems like they’re sending mixed messages!

Electric cars are losing popularity. People once thought they were the future, but now car brands are focusing on hybrid cars instead. Electric cars aren’t selling as well as expected. However, Volvo, known for its super-strong cars, still wants to make only electric cars by 2035.

Electric Cars 2035 Plan

They teamed up with other companies and made a call to the EU saying, “Don’t change the 2035 plans for cars.” Basically, they want the EU to stick to their guns and not back down on their plan to ban fossil fuel cars. Volvo’s CEO, Jim Rowan, even said, “The 2035 goal is really important to bring all the people together and make sure Europe stays competitive.” It’s like they want everyone on board to keep the car industry moving forward, even though they’re also pushing back their own electric car goals.

Volvo is telling the EU to keep pushing for electric cars, but they’re doing the opposite. They postponed their own plan to go fully electric by 2030. This is weird because Volvo was a leader in electric cars, now they’re slowing down. It doesn’t make sense!

Other European car companies haven’t really said much about this yet, but it’ll be interesting to see what happens next.
