Roger Golubski, a former Kansas City detective accused of raping and sex trafficking Black women, was found dead on December 2 in what authorities believe was a suicide. His body was discovered on his back porch in Edwardsville, Kansas, after local officials responded to a 911 call about a gunshot.

Golubski was previously implicated in the wrongful imprisonment of Lamonte McIntyre, a Black man wrongfully convicted of a double murder in 1994. McIntyre spent over 23 years in prison before being exonerated in 2017. After uncovering the truth about his conviction and Golubski’s role in the false evidence leading to his imprisonment, McIntyre was awarded a $12.5 million settlement.
