Diana Lovejoy’s Crazy Plot to Take Out Her Ex-Husband – What Went Wrong?

So, here’s the wild story about Diana Lovejoy, a fitness trainer and YouTuber, who seriously messed up her life. She went from being a normal Californian woman to plotting to kill her ex-husband, Greg Mulvihill. Sounds like something out of a movie, right?

Diana Lovejoy: The Start of Her Downfall

Diana was born in California, on October 26, 1972. She did pretty well in school, graduating from Mountain View High School, then heading off to the University of California, Berkeley. She got a degree in literature, psychology, music, and French – a lot of stuff, huh? After that, she worked as a tech writer for about four years.

Her life was going smoothly for a while. She was making money as a fitness trainer and had a YouTube channel where she posted cooking videos. But everything went downhill after she married Greg Mulvihill.

A Rocky Marriage and Failed Attempts at Parenthood

Greg and Diana met in high school and seemed like the perfect couple at first. They got married in 2007, and it was all good… for a while. But things started falling apart when they struggled to have kids. After eight miscarriages, their marriage became rocky. Finally, they had a son, but even then, things didn’t get better.

In 2014, Diana decided she’d had enough and filed for divorce. She even accused Greg of sexual abuse, but that turned out to be a lie, which made the whole thing even messier. The divorce took two long years to finalize, and they fought over who would get custody of their son.

The Custody Drama

At first, Diana got full custody of their kid, and Greg was only allowed supervised visits. He also had to pay $100 a month in child support. But in 2016, the court changed things up. They decided that Greg could have shared custody and split child support with Diana.

This didn’t sit well with Diana. She was making around $10,000 a month from her fitness career and YouTube, and she even got to keep their family house in Carlsbad. Plus, the court ordered her to pay Greg $120,000. She wasn’t too happy about sharing custody, and that’s when things took a dark turn.

The Murder Plot

Diana wasn’t having it. Instead of sharing custody, she decided she’d rather get rid of Greg for good. She teamed up with a guy named Weldon McDavid Jr., who was her shooting instructor. She paid him $2,000 to help her kill Greg. Yeah, that’s right – she actually planned to have her ex-husband killed.

On September 4, 2016, McDavid lured Greg to a secluded area, telling him he had some important evidence to help in the divorce case. When Greg showed up, McDavid shot him in the chest. Luckily, Greg survived – the bullet missed his heart by inches.

Diana’s Downfall

After an investigation, it was revealed that Diana was behind the entire murder plot. She and McDavid were both arrested. Diana was sentenced to 26 years in prison, and McDavid got 50 years. They were also ordered to pay Greg $500,000 in damages. Diana’s YouTube career and life as she knew it were over.

As of 2024, Diana is still serving her time in the Central California Women’s Facility. She’ll be eligible for parole in 2036, but McDavid has a much longer sentence ahead of him.
