The story starts when a stranger shoves a briefcase into your hands out of nowhere. Now it’s yours to protect, and you’ve got to keep it away from something sinister. This thing slips out of the darkness, hiding among the crowd, and it just won’t quit coming after you. You’ll need to stay sharp, map out your next move, and keep your distance. Your lungs are burning, pushed to the limit, but a rickety inhaler—after a couple of shakes—might give you the edge to keep going. Your only shot is forcing your way through the swarm of people, a mess of unfamiliar faces, with that tight, suffocating feeling pressing in. It could be anyone around you. I’d say this is one of the top games I’ve ever recommended in my Steam reviews. It’s basically “It Follows” turned into a video game—and since that’s one of my favorite horror movies ever, I was all in.

I tried the demo on itch.io a while ago and wasn’t blown away—it felt too close to the movie, and I wanted something with its own spin. Thankfully, the full version steps up! It captures that same anxious, paranoid vibe that made the film so gripping, but it throws in some fresh mechanics that give it a unique flavor. Those surprises hit me out of nowhere a few times, and paired with some of the best lighting and sound design I’ve come across, it’s a total standout.
