Spring hits, and I’m walking under cherry blossoms, my heart jumping with thoughts of what’s coming in my new chapter. But as I get close to Ainoshima Academy’s gate, students swarm me. The deal is, the school’s two student councils can’t stand each other. Before I got here, their votes were tied up even. Now, I’m the guy who breaks the tie. That’s why they’re all over me, trying to win my vote. “Let’s team up and lift every student to do great things!” one side shouts. “You’re on our team, yeah?” the other pushes. I was hoping this place would be my little love paradise, but it’s looking more like a letdown—I’ll upset half the school no matter who I back!
With both sides piling on the pressure, how do I pick one without killing my chances at some love? There’s this girl in my grade, different class, who leads the Gekka Council—she’s big on old-school ways. People look up to her ‘cause she comes from a good family and acts right, but the boys go crazy for her pretty face, smooth moves, and awesome style. Thing is, she’s got this wall up, so she’s not swimming in close friends despite all the fans. Oh, and she’s quietly into cute things—though her idea of “cute” might be a little weird.
