Good Times Star John Amos Dead!

Oh, man, this is kinda hard to write, but here: Everyone remembers John Amos from Good Times and Die Hard 2 passed away at the age of 84. Yeah, you read that right. James Evans Sr. actor is dead. John Amos died a natural death on August 21 was confirmed by his publicist Belinda Foster on September 2. Such a moment when one gets to think and ponder that actually, yes, we lost a legend of some sort.

John Amos: More Than Just a TV Dad
Well if you are thinking why the hell everyone is so sad? First of all John was not just an actor he was everyone’s imaginary TV dad. James Evans Sr from Good times role was well performed by him. He guided you to think that he could actually be your real life dad – a strict father figure who loves you. In fact, some of absolutely popular musicians such as Alicia Keys, Rick Ross, and Wu-Tang Clan used his name in their compositions. They this shows you how much of a culture shock this dude had.

John, in Time Magazine’s December 2021 issue interviewed, said, “I think that was the best attempt in reality to show that an African American family living in such circumstances was as close as possible.” You could easily see that he was very proud of that.

His Son’s Heartfelt Words
Some words were said by John’s son, Kelly Christopher Amos, after the death of the great musician. He said, “Many fans consider him their TV father.” He lived a good life. It will be recalled that he left behind great performances on television and in films as an actor. I need to add that my father enjoyed working as an actor during his whole life.. He was my father, my buddy, my everything dear and special to my heart.”

Honestly, that hit me right in the feels. Imagine losing your dad, who also happens to be a hero to millions. It’s just heavy.
